SDAH 608: Faith is the Victory

CHRISTIAN LIFE >> Christian Warfare

SDAH 608

Encamped along the hills of light,
Ye Christian soldiers, rise,
And press the battle ere the night
Shall veil the glowing skies.

Text

1
Encamped along the hills of light,
Ye Christian soldiers, rise,
And press the battle ere the night
Shall veil the glowing skies.
Against the foe in vales below,
Let all our strength be hurled;
Faith is the victory, we know,
That overcomes the world.

Refrain
Faith is the victory!
Faith is the victory!
Oh, glorious victory
That overcomes the world.

2
His banner over us in love,
Our sword the Word of God;
We tread the road the saints above
With shouts of triumph trod.
By faith they, like whirlwind’s breath,
Swept on o’er ev’ry field;
The faith by which they conquered death
Is still our shining shield.

3
To him who overcomes the foe
White raiment shall be giv’n;
Before the angels he shall know
His name confessed in heav’n.
Then onward from the hills of light,
Our hearts with love aflame;
We’ll vanquish all the hosts of night,
In Jesus’ conq’ring name.

As a result of Daniel’s loyalty to God, the angel of the Lord closed the mouths of the hungry lions. Daniel was protected and vindicated before the king and those who sought to take his life. The experience of that most remarkable Hebrew exile stands as a token of God’s ultimate vindication of His people throughout the ages as they are opposed and persecuted by the powers of evil. (Lesson 7, 1st Quarter 2020 – Thursday, Vindication, 2/13/2020)

As the Lord responded to Hezekiah’s prayer to deliver Jerusalem, He then for sure will also deliver us from this sinful world. Hezekiah set as an example that faith can lead to victory. (Lesson 7, 1st Quarter 2021 -Wednesday, The Rest of the Story, 2/10/2021)

What makes a great and mighty nation? What gives them victory to overcome all foes? Brothers and sisters, it is faith in Him who Is always victorious. Yes, it is Faith in Jesus Christ our Lord. (Lesson 5, 2nd Quarter, 2021, Wednesday, A Great and Mighty Nation, 4/28/2021)
