SDAH 577: In the Heart of Jesus

CHRISTIAN LIFE >> LovING SERVICE

SDAH 577

In the heart of Jesus there is love for you,
Love most pure and tender, love most deep and true;
Why should you be lonely, why for friendship sigh,
When the heart of Jesus has a full supply?

1
In the heart of Jesus there is love for you,
Love most pure and tender, love most deep and true;
Why should you be lonely, why for friendship sigh,
When the heart of Jesus has a full supply?

2
In the mind of Jesus there is thought for you,
Warm as summer sunshine, sweet as morning dew;
Why should you be fearful, why take anxious thought,
Since the mind of Jesus cares for those He bought?

3
In the field of Jesus there is work for you;
Such as even angels might rejoice to do;
Why stand idly sighing for some lifework grand,
While the field of Jesus seeks your reaping hand?

4
In the home of Jesus there’s a place for you;
Glorious, bright, and joyous, calm and peaceful too;
Why then, like a wanderer, roam with weary pace,
If the home of Jesus holds for you a place?

When we confess our sins and ask God to forgive us, 1 John 1:9 tells us that He is faithful and just forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all our unrighteousness. Ezekiel 36:26 tells us: “A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.” For sure the heart the He will give is like the heart of Jesus. (Lesson 13, 2nd Quarter 2021 -Tuesday, New Covenant and New Heart, 6/22/2021)

When we spend a thoughtful hour in meditation on the life of Christ, and especially the last scenes of His suffering in Gethsemane all the way to Calvary, we will be transfixed by His self-sacrificing love that held nothing back for you and me. (Lesson 4, 2nd Quarter 2023 -Tuesday, Living a God-Centered Life, 4/18/2023)
