We are elected in Christ to eternal life if we accept Him as our personal Savior (Rom. 8:29, Eph. 1:3–8). He wishes for everyone to be saved (1 Tim. 2:3, 4). Hoffman couldn’t be more correct about our sure election when she wrote, We are redeemed! The price is paid! What a wonderful Saviour! (Hymns Suggestions for “God’s Call”, Oct 12-18, 2019, Lesson 3)

The heavenly court scene of Daniel 7:9–14 depicts the central event of the chapter. The books; the Ancient of Days on the throne; and the Son of man, surrounded by heavenly clouds (Dan. 7:13) as He comes into the presence of the Ancient of Days, portray a scene of judgment in heaven. For the saints, who have been persecuted by the little horn, the judgment means vindication, salvation, and restoration. We should bear in mind that the judgment of the living will take place only when the time of probation closes and the seven last plagues begin to be poured on Babylon (Revelation 15, Revelation 16). But most important, we must not fear the judgment because the “Son of Man” is our representative in the heavenly tribunal. Our lesson today talks about Jesus as our Savior. The One who gives us overcoming power and triumph in each trying hour. What a wonderful Savior is Jesus, our Lord. (Lesson 5, 1st Quarter 2021 -Thursday, You Comforted Me, 1/28/2021)

The lyrics of this hymn reminds us that we are already redeemed by Jesus and the price was paid by His blood.
