SDAH 422
Come, we that love the Lord,
And let our joys be known;
Join in a song with sweet accord,
Join in a song with sweet accord,
Text
1
Come, we that love the Lord,
And let our joys be known;
Join in a song with sweet accord,
Join in a song with sweet accord,
And thus surround the throne,
And thus surround the throne.
Refrain
We’re marching to Zion,
Beautiful, beautiful Zion;
We’re marching upward to Zion,
The beautiful city of God.
2
Let those refuse to sing
Who never knew our God;
But children of the heav’nly King,
But children of the heav’nly King
May speak their joys abroad,
May speak their joys abroad.
3
The hill of Zion yields
A thousand sacred sweets
Before we reach the heav’nly fields,
Before we reach the heav’nly fields
Or walk the golden streets,
Or walk the golden streets.
4
Then let our songs abound
And ev’ry tear be dry;
We’re marching thru Immanuel’s ground,
We’re marching thru Immanuel’s ground
To fairer worlds on high,
To fairer worlds on high.

The lesson says, “Zion is summoned to enter into the light that is hers…although Zion is Jerusalem, the emphasis is more on the people than on the physical location of the city.” We are marching to Zion to where God’s presence is. (Lesson 12, 1st Quarter 2021 -Tuesday, Universal Appeal, 3/16/2021)
As we prepare for the coming of Christ, may we place our hearts to God and fully trust His ways. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths. (Lesson 6, 1st Quarter 2021 -Thursday, Final Triumph of Zion, 2/04/2021)
We might not be able to imagine how Abraham and his household have marched from the land of Ur to the land of Canaan. But we can be sure that there is joy in their hearts, and perhaps even singing along the way because they knew that God is leading them to the place that He will give to them. Likewise, there is joy in our hearts because we are also marching to a place that He has prepared for us in our heavenly home. Yes, we’re marching to Zion. (Lesson 12, 2nd Quarter 2021 -Wednesday, The Faith of Abraham: Part 2, 6/16/2021)
