Ralph Carmichael (1927-; see Biographies) says that this little song, to be sung before prayer, was written for a group of California people in the 1960s when he was doing work with Youth for Christ.

May our lives be transformed by Your love,
may our souls be refreshed from above.
At this moment, let people everywhere
join us now as we come to You in prayer.
