SDAH 311: I Would Be Like Jesus

GOSPEL >> Consecration

SDAH 311

Earthly pleasures vainly call me;
I would be like Jesus;
Nothing worldly shall enthrall me;
I would be like Jesus.

Text
Text

1
Earthly pleasures vainly call me;
I would be like Jesus;
Nothing worldly shall enthrall me;
I would be like Jesus.

Refrain
Be like Jesus, this my song,
In the home and in the throng;
Be like Jesus, all day long!
I would be like Jesus.

2
He has broken every fetter,
I would be like Jesus;
That my soul may serve Him better,
I would be like Jesus.

3
All the way from earth to glory,
I would be like Jesus;
Telling o’er and o’er the story,
I would be like Jesus.

4
That in Heaven He may meet me,
I would be like Jesus;
That His words “Well done” may greet me,
I would be like Jesus.

Notes

Every day, God gives us the privilege to think, feel, and act as Jesus would. Through the Holy Spirit giving us grace and bringing the Word and His promises to our remembrance, we receive the impress of His character with every choice we make. (Lesson 4, 3rd Quarter 2022 -Tuesday, Jesus’ Last Words, 7/19/2022)

Having taken our place as soldiers in the army of Christ, we have His help to do His will at every step. Let us renew our vow to be wholly His every day. In His presence, we have His strength to be more than conquerors in every battle. (Lesson 9, 1st Quarter 2023, Managing for the Master – Tuesday, “The Heart of Judas” 2/28/23)
