It was by a group of young people with musical backgrounds and was held at Phoenix, Arizona in the most recent GYC Conference, “Arise.”
What I heard was very refreshing and inspiring. Rather than dealing with the effects of rock music and whatnot, the presenters dealt with the more practical parts of music which is ministry and evangelism.
And because it is very relevant to what Hymns for Music advocate, I highly recommend that you listen to it as well.
Here’s a short summary of what to expect in each presentation:
Annie Moretta, a former music student from Andrews University, gave a valuable and informative session on how to effectively lead song service in local churches.
This presentation tried to answer the question, “How important is music in evangelism and is it, in and of itself, a means of converting souls?” At the first part of the session, Ariel Hinkle reminded listeners on the importance of being a converted musician. The second part was presented by Kaleb Genstler who gave practical ideas on how musicians can effectively evangelize.
