Introductions for Sabbath School Song Service (based on specific lesson quarterlies):

These words are from Thomas Ken’s (1637-1710) evening hymn (see SDAH 53), in which they form the final stanza, which was stanza 12 of his original.

The tune OLD HUNDREDTH was composed by Louis Bourgeois (c. 1510-1561) in 1551 and is used for SDAH 16, “All People That on Earth Do Dwell.” See there for comments on the tune. In this version, all the notes are quarter notes.
