These two prayer sentences, to be sung by congregation or choir, are portion of a well-known anthem by Samuel Sebastian Wesley (1810-1876; see SDAH 273), the grandson of Charles Wesley and one of England’s greatest nineteenth-century organists. He also wrote the tune AURELIA, SDAH 316 and 348.
